Footstep Forwards

Copper Mountain has a couple of bowls that aren't directly accessible from ski lifts, which means that when a snow dump arrives there is always 1 or 2 areas you can guarantee fresh tracks - at least until later morning/lunch time!

This fantastic because fresh "pow" is best snow to ski through - so much more enjoyable than groomers or a completely skied out groomer. Having said that, these areas are always very difficult to access. The best location for powder at Copper Mountain was an hour hike that included a couple of traverses and hikes. At 3,000m high I felt sick by the time we reached our point to start skiing.

This was taken at the start of the climb - we went up to the top, turned left and round the bowl, which is out of view. It was worth it though - the skiing (and the view) was fantastic!
